Periphery is hiring two (2) new staff editors for the 60th edition! These are paid positions at Drake University for both the fall and spring semesters open to any current Drake student. Interested applicants should submit the following by email to with “(Your Name)’s Editor Application” as the subject line. Applications must include:

  1. A current resume no longer than one (1) page.
  2. A writing sample of no longer than eight (8) pages. This can be any type of writing about which you feel you excel. It should capture your style and personality as a writer.
  3. A cover letter (no longer than one (1) page) that answers the following questions: A) Why do you want to be an editor for Periphery? B) What relevant experience would you bring to the journal? What, if anything, has been your experience with literary journals? C) What are your favorite genres to read and/or write? What draws you to them?
